Nationally, 25 percent of new infections are in black and Hispanic men, and in New York City it is 45 percent, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the city’s health department.
Nationally, when only men under 25 infected through gay sex are counted, 80 percent are black or Hispanic — even though they engage in less high-risk behavior than their white peers.
Yep. That's how it is, these days. Something needs to change.

You don't just wake up with HIV or AIDS unless you have made some questionable choices. Those born with it, and the very few who get it medically, are the exceptions.

Agreed. Not sure what "we" are supposed to do. People must make wiser decisions.
And although the deniers will come out (and I'll be called a homophobe) the reality is that male homosexuality among Blacks and Hispanics is not an acceptable behavior so many are in the closet (or the "down low", whatever).
I don't care what happens to people who practice deviant behavior.
You'll care when you catch HIV from your girlfriend because she had sex with a bisexual "deviant"...
Or when one of them donates blood because he sees the rule against homosexuals as unjust, and you end up leaving the hospital after a transfusion with HIV.

Very few get it medically because gay men aren't allowed to donate blood.
There are organizations campaigning to change that... Soon there will be a full blown HIV epidemic in the US, for the sake of political correctness. It's in everyone's interest to further understanding of HIV and what the risk factors are, even though it's politically incorrect. And it's in everyone's interest to find a cure, because you're potentially one transfusion or bloody assault away from HIV infection.

Blood is checked before it's ever transferred to someone else.
