You base your assumptions on one week of data?

That's like saying gas prices will free-fall because the price of a gallon fell $0.10 in one week.

gretsky, the DOW isnt an indicator of the economy.

As it went up, I ridiculed individuals who suggested this meant an economic recovery, and the reason I ridiculed them is because companies became profitable by outsourcing, laying off employees, getting rid of competition, increasing prices..

None of them were good for the underlying economy.

As companies have to rehire, more competition comes into play, have to hire individuals, the DOW will fall as profits fall for the individual companies, but the economy improves because there is more money moving around and people are being hired.

The big drop was due to the slowing down of the emerging nations' economies.
Can't blame this one on Obama because he doesn't rule the world..yet.

The stock market was due for a correction. No big deal.

alphamale-
"The current administration and its "useful idiots" keep pointing at the DOW as proof that the economy is improving.....despite the fact that poverty is at record levels, food stamp use is also at all time highs and worker participation rates are at all time lows."

Miss this?

Very demanding, the DOW was at record highs since 2008, 3 bad days and the drama queens are out in full force. This had more to do with China, blame Le Keqiang not Obama

The issue though is that when the DOW is up by a lot then the loyal followers "thank" Obama.
If they insist it was Obama and his policies that drove the DOW up then they also have to "blame" him when the DOW is down.

The drop happened because I finally bought in on some new stuff.
It always happens and I warned you all that it would when I did.....I just forgot to come on and warn you that I did

God did help us. We`re no longer losing 750,000 jobs a month like we were during gomer`s last 5 months.
