If NBC and its cable sisters can't simply focus on reporting the news instead of seeking to manipulate it, then they should just get out of the news business altogether. Period. It is a waste of viewers' time when you're too busy hiding the truth. The political scene is the one thing these networks (except for FOX) do not cover well, and with a bias so leftist in nature, they make the news unwatchable that you can't take it seriously. You have to seek several sources anymore just to find out what's really going on in our great country and in our world. The days of Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, and John Chancellor are long gone. I'm not saying it wasn't somewhat bad back then, but it's a far bigger joke these days.
NBC (and you can also say ABC and CBS and CNN) and MSNBC need a new approach to news, and fast, and need to quit worrying about potential government threats made to them if the truth somehow gets out. Politicians (mainly the liberals) are going to be found out and we can see right through them even without media coverage. It's time for media reform.

You can indeed be biased and still be a journalist or did you think The people at Washington Post who specifically look for fraud in Government are biased simply because they are only tasked at looking for fraud ?
Too many MSNBC staffers forget the example of Air America, the progressive talk radio that flopped and finally shut their doors in 2010. As a conservative, I was looking forward to some good hard hitting talk radio ala Rush and his ilk. Instead, we got this strange bitter blend of snarky liberal hysteria and ugly bitterness, always hinting at dark conspiracies by the Bush family.
It was unattractive, anti-intellectual and just downright stupid radio and their ratings tanked.
MSNBC is doing the same thing. I bet they become a travel or sports channel soon.
MSNBC is going right down the toilet. It's not that they have a few radical, mean spirited, nasty, disgusting people, it's systemic, it's who they are. The people hosting the shows on MSNBC have said the most vile, bigoted, racist, nasty things. It should be apparent to anyone paying attention, that the people on MSNBC are vile, hate mongers.
NBC News and sister cable network MSNBC rank at the bottom of media outlets Americans trust most for news, with Fox News leading the way, according to a new poll from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling. In its fifth trust poll, 35 percent said they trusted Fox news more than any other outlet, followed by PBS at 14 percent, ABC at 11 percent, CNN at 10 percent, CBS at 9 percent, 6 percent for MSNBC and Comedy Central, and just 3 percent for NBC.
I just can't understand the reasoning behind hiring nothing but first rate, classless jerks. Anyone can have an opinion that differs from many others, most of us understand there will be different views and there is a reason for both conservative and liberal reporting, but MSNBC goes so far over the edge I wonder when they will simply sink?
I disagree. Rachel Maddow does some very in-depth investigatory journalism. She's unraveled some of the very complicated issues surrounding Chris Christie. Now, she doesn't do sensational, so her stories are not always the most entertaining, but they certainly are well-researched.
