How do you know what Shirley Temple Black had to deal with? You are confusing her characters with reality of life in the 1930's and 40's.

Have you ever seen a ST movie?...Her characters went throught some of the hardest, heart-breaking situations people durring the depresion lived.

Honey BB is an odity. She is no way representitive of the average American kid. She is entertainment...not a indicator.

Wholesome and innocent for which kids? The ones that had to go to segregated schools, drink from designated water fountains or sit in the balcony at the movie theater?
