Modern civilized society has been based upon the 10 commandments, whether you believe it or not.
The major laws in society, have been based upon those 10 items in every way. Read them.
Without laws, we are greedy by nature.

Speaking of nature, where the 10 commandments conflict with the laws of nature, this is where civilization begins.

What about when laws governing morals, go beyond that? At what point is liberty given up, by laws and controls another man placed upon you, as an individual?

Without rules can we be free? Are you being serious?

Either way, the ten commandments are just another iteration of a long list of no no codes that have existed throughout history.

There are at least 5 billion people on Earth -- many of whom live in modern civilized societies -- who have never even heard of the 10 commandments, to say nothing of believing in them.

Are you seriously suggesting that every single one of those 5 billion people is unfree and immoral?

What arrogance.

I don't need any religious fables to determine how I live. I have morals despite being an Atheist.

I am with you on that on SocialAtheist, though there is not much that we agree on. One can be moral without believing in god. I even gave you a rep.

probably closer to 3 billion, not 5. All Abrahamic Religions have the 10 Commandments.

Where did your morals right from wrong originate?
Generations? Or the road of hard knocks?
