I am happy as can be about it. We said it would happen we were ignored and now its happening. Its great news. Can't wait until the boyscouts dip below 1 million members. Guess their idea of allowing homosexuals in worked to well since they haven't joined en masse. The normal members and their kids sure have left though.
So you quite dearly fear the gay boy scouts can easily persuade the straight boy scouts to become gay?

Not everybody is wanting their children to be brain washed by liberal PC idiology.

It was obvious a lot of kids would be pulled out when they became the "gay scouts".

Its been dropping for a lot longer than that. Decades, most likely. In cities big and small, scout troops have been combined with others or closed down entirely due to lack of membership (all four in my medium-sized town have closed for example, and that was way back in the 90s).

Its not because of a new policy to let gay scouts in. Kids just don't think Scouting is cool anymore.

You can literally tell the correlation between being an old crusty relic and thinking boyscout decline has anything to do with gays. This is the same correlation between being an old crusty relic and being anti-gay in general.

It has been many decades since being a boyscout was anything most kids wanted to do after about middle school. Frankly, it's just not cool. By age 14 I was embarrassed to be a boyscout but my mother kept me in because she thought we owed some debt to the family that got me into it as an 8 year old.

Not cool + Other diversions available to children = decline in Boy Scouts.

They call this year "bruising". There are a lot of Christian families who pulled their kids out and the only reason is the gay issue.

Oh well. Not much good can come from exposing one's children to fundamentalist Christians and their superstitions anyway so the remaining Scouts will be better in the long run without the ramblings and delusions of self-important blowhards who think they have a direct line to God among their ranks.

If that's the case, I say good riddance then.

You sound angry. It is every parents right to decide what's best for their kids.

I'm not angry in the least. As I've stated, reducing exposure to fundamentalist Christians (i.e., the types that think they're being holy or righteous removing a kid from the BoyScouts due to inclusionary policies) is a NET BENEFIT to the Boy Scouts, and the boys that remain in the organization.
