I guess people will find all kinds of ways to expose the increased cost of health insurance due to Obamacare. Here is one amusing example:
------------------------------
A Los Angeles restaurant has added a surcharge to help cover health insurance costs for its employees under Obamacare.
Republique, a popular French bistro in the Hancock Park area, has placed a notice to its customers on the bottom of its menu, Fox News reported.
"A 3% charge will be added to each guest check, to ensure health & medical benefits for our entire staff," the notice says. "Please adjust your gratuity accordingly and thank you."
I personally would not ever go back to this restaurant. To tack on an additional expense after the fact is wrong unless they posted it somewhere. Otherwise, it's a tax. Which they cannot charge. And if it's not a tax, then it's the cost of doing business. So they can either raise their prices or cut staff.
Welcome to the ObamaCare reality.
I think they are doing it to make a statement. As to your comments, why is this different than some places that automatically include the gratuity on the bill? There are places that do that.
Of course the restaurant could have easily reduced some portion sizes (a lot of restaurants over size portions), slighly increased prices (a number of restaurants undercharge to the point of financial ruin), the owners, execs could have taken a pay cut.
This is just an excuse.
Why should the owners and execs take a pay cut? Why should they pay for the employee's health insurance out of their pocket?
Typical liberal thinking.
It's part of the cost of doing business. All costs are always included in the final price of a product or service. That's how you stay in business.
Opposing Obamacare and wanting to make it better are not one in the same, you are confusing the 2.
There is no way to make Obamacare better. This dog aint never gonna hunt. It's a bad piece of legislation that never should have seen the light of day. It's a total failure, it ought to be repealed and everybody knows it.

If "the people" wanted everyone to have insurance then "the people" are the ones to pay for it.
You don't get to decide on something and then point your finger to the other guy to pay for it.
You want it then you pay for it. You want everyone to have it then you pay for it.

It's like being constipated. You know you need to get rid of it to feel better.
