I guess people will find all kinds of ways to expose the increased cost of health insurance due to Obamacare. Here is one amusing example:
------------------------------
A Los Angeles restaurant has added a surcharge to help cover health insurance costs for its employees under Obamacare.

Republique, a popular French bistro in the Hancock Park area, has placed a notice to its customers on the bottom of its menu, Fox News reported.

"A 3% charge will be added to each guest check, to ensure health & medical benefits for our entire staff," the notice says. "Please adjust your gratuity accordingly and thank you."

That's cool, that way people are well aware that their consumer dollars are going towards paying for their servers' health care. I also think it should be noted how much hourly pay the server is making so when people think of skimping on a tip that was great service, they realize that their server is actually making below minimum wage.

I have always tipped well for excellent service so now their HC is included but the % rate will remain the same as my wife & I have our own problems because of Obamanomics.Maybe McDonalds could do the same for their salary employees and install pay toilets to fund Obamacare...the wipe & flush fund...e-i-e-i-o.

Eh, as long as the money is actually going to pay for healthcare, I don't see the problem with it. They can itemize to whatever degree of detail they want.

Of course the restaurant could have easily reduced some portion sizes (a lot of restaurants over size portions), slighly increased prices (a number of restaurants undercharge to the point of financial ruin), the owners, execs could have taken a pay cut.

This is just an excuse.

I suspect the owner knows his clientele and that they are Rwers. So they would not likely stop patronizing his establishment due to this nonsensical display. Good, I think making those RWers pay more is a good thing to emulate across all the "privileged" dining spots in the Country.

McDonalds Corp provides ACA compliant healthcare insurance to its employees.

The majority of retail restaurants are independently-owned under franchise licenses. Retail employees are not employed by McDonalds Corp. Most have been and likely will continue to be part time workers because their employers want maximum control over scheduling and to avoid OT. Work schedules tend to vary week to week.

Your sweeping bigotry is exposed quite well this time. There are millions of Democrats who oppose Obamacare. And they also eat out.

There are people on this forum that hate to tip. I don't. A 3% add is nothing. I guess for those that hate to tip it's horrible.
