One of the hallmarks of a good fiction writer, is that he explores all the logical branches of his plot and closes them off in a way that doesn't leave one questioning the device that closes them off.
Which means that conspiracy theorists are very bad fiction writers
It would be plausible to have a bunch of people use thermite and planes to fake something.
It would not be plausible to get all those people (and all the ones who contributed to creating the conspiracy) to keep silent. It would involve the coordination of a large array of people, to get someone in authority to pull this off. And, then to have not a single one of them ever leak it, that would be a miracle.
There, of course, are other theories as to WHY someone would want to do it, but in the end, the theories raise far more questions than they answer. Like, why would the president have the wife of a long term friend on a plane die? To what end?
Those who pen these things forget those sub-plots and that's what makes them such bad fiction writers. When asked, they imply that these people have hearts of stone and are unbelievably cold and calculating with clear and unfailing strategy and plots to achieve some end. Yet, as we saw, Bush was not. He was a decent and very caring person, who was personally extremely affected by the pain of those he didn't even know.
Sadly, the conspiracy types are terrible fiction writers - which is probably why they aren't widely published authors and rich.
What also gets me is that basically:
A concerted effort to conduct a professional demolition on two of the largest and most prominent buildings in the world perpetrated by hundreds or more shadowy government spooks completely undetected with absolutely no evidence whatsoever to their actions = entirely possible and totally probable.
19 guys going to airline pilot school and then flying planes into buildings after exploiting notoriously-weak airline security to get knives onboard = fantastical and impossible gibberish nonsense.
Nothing about 9/11 has been debunked a thousand times....
Stop using grandiose rhetoric.
