Thats true, but I'm adopted, my brothers adopted, my sisters adopted, my kids are adopted, my cousins are adopted, so what do you have against adoption and whats it have to do with the thread?

Sounds like it could all be done with contract law.

Power of attorney and a last will and testament, go a long way in any relationship.

How come government gives married people special privileges, in the first place.
How did that all start??

Yes, exactly. And obviously we're not naive about the logistics, but trust me, she is OUR baby, for all intents and purposes.

One lady in my birth group is older and had to use donor eggs. You want to go tell her it's not her baby?

No, because at least a woman who cannot bear children and a man fit the definition of marriage and fit the definition of parents within the western family ideal

Well ideals change and definitions change. Those who don't adapt to change, get left behind.

Ok, to make this clear.

In order to make a baby you need a sperm and an egg. A male and a female needs to be involved in order to create an egg and a sperm. We can all agree about that.

Now, how this sperm and egg meet up is not only by male and females having sex. It can be done in other ways.
So a baby can be created in more than one way. So a homosexual couple does not personally have to be involved sexually with the opposite sex in order to have a child - And that's the whole point we are all trying to get across.

Clearly you havent read my postings because I for one, havent suggested they arent your babies.. Being adopted, (by a single female 25 years ago at that), and adopted two children now as a single father, I'd be a complete idiot to suggest that children arent yours if you havent given birth to them.

You should Google that if you are interested in the history of marriage in this country.

Western family ideal? So children can't be raised by single parents? There is no western family ideal. Children should be raised in healthy happy families.
