I think the pilots were in cahoots with the aliens.. maybe the plane went down in one whole piece under the indian ocean where one of the main alien basses are located..
There was an old movie where a modern US aircraft carried went through a vortex and ended up in WW-II. I saw it in the 1980s. The F-15s were knocking the the Japanese Zero's out of the sky.

I saw it cant remember the name thought.. though it was 1941 or something..
(1) According to the passenger names, at least one of the passengers is a Uyghur.
(2) There was a Buddhist conference on March 2 in Kuala Lumpur, and many passengers are Chinese Buddhists.

The aircraft was hijacked, landed, and concealed for some nefarious purpose in the future (i.e. - another flying missile mission (another 9/11 style attack), delivery of one of the many well-documented missing nuclear weapons or a homemade one, etc.).
