well your year books seem to be very different from ours or my kids for that matter, but regardless writing about outside school activities, pics of kids parties, hunting trips etc. is very different from writing about coming out of the closet. I am not saying gays need to stay in the closet, quite the opposite, but there is a time and place. Writing a story in the year book isn't the time or the place in my opinion.

In contrast look at how straight men are encouraged to form relationships with women leading to marriage. Straight men often have peer pressure to get married. Look at how marriage, and weddings in general are celebrated with straight people. A stark contrast.

Furthermore, I will say that is a lot easier and accepted in society for gay men not to have sex at all than it is for straight men.

Believe it.

You really think discrimination is forcing them to be promiscuous and have open relationships? Lol. Even today with less discrimination against them they still behave the same.

That's a little different than having anal intercourse with another man in your spare time...

Yes, because that's totally what the story is about.

It seems it's people like you who are the ones obsessed with gay people. What's that about?

Since everyone knows that lesbians don't count because they're hot (sorry jjrose), here's a breakdown of what gay guys are like (I might have the percentages off a little bit, but not too much):

25% - Convince themselves/pretend that they're straight. Date women, maybe even marry them and have families and whatnot. May secretly look at something gay and feel horribly ashamed and guilty. Most gay guys experience this at least sometime in their lives.

20% - Probably appear to be asexual. Never date anyone. People start to wonder why they haven't ever had a girlfriend when they're in their mid-20s. People suspect that they might be gay, but they otherwise seem normal. They might come out to a few select people, but they do their best not to broadcast it to the world.

20% - Earnest, sincere guys who tried dating girls at one point but really that they're gay and this isn't going to happen. They want to live a normal life, get married, have a family, etc., and be respected by the rest of the world. They might be out, but they don't broadcast it to the world. Most here value monogamous relationships.

Note: These three groups generally don't like the activists and the promiscuous types.

20% - Middle of the roaders who have embraced gay culture, go to pride parades, and see themselves as distinct from being a straight guy. They might date but they probably have open relationships. Might still blend into the background in professional settings.

7.5% - Activists who shout "we're here, we're *****" very loudly and shame the 65% who would want to lead otherwise normal lives as hating themselves. Opposed to watching football and drinking beer because it's masculine.

7.5% - Promiscuous types who have a lot of issues and a lot of other problems. They dance in thongs at pride parades and think that's what being gay is all about, because they mask their insecurities with booze and sex with a different guy each night. A lot of them probably have AIDS and don't care.

The problem is that most of the population only sees the last two groups, or maybe the 20% "middle of the roaders" in some contexts. The 65% remain invisible to everybody but a select few.

Sounds like something you think about a lot.

Unfortunately for you, that's not what the topic is about.
