Where is your practice? In S. Florida, many doctors would go broke if they did not accept Medicare patients.
As to "many of the products are listing members of our clinic as providers, when in fact we are not," I'd have to see the "many products" before I'd believe this.
Iowa
We are rated #1 in quality by medicare standards and thus are "rewarded" with the lowest medicare reimbursement in the US. We would go broke if we accepted all medicare patients.
Medicare pays us TERRIBLY. That was even before the practice specific cuts (not the doc fix) went into effect Jan 1st. I would be much better off seeing no medicare patients, as we live in a fairly affluent area with low unemployment and a high rate of private insurance.
I guess it must be a bummer to be a physician in Florida. I know my brother in law is a GI guy in Jacksonville, works like a dog, and makes less than one third what I make.
Remember, whatever the idiot signs into law by himself, can be undone when he is out of the WH.
Absolutely correct. We have to elect a majority in the Senate to go with the majority in the House. Then we can at least stop this idiot. Better yet, if we are smart enough to elect a two-thirds majority in both Senate and House, we can not only stop him, but impeach him for all his illegal acts to say nothing of breaking our Constitution law.
Apparently a president no longer needs congress to stop enforcing a low. They can just say, "Where I can, I'll work with congress, where I can't I'll go it alone," and sign an executive order.
I just went back to the OP. So we're supposed to believe, on the basis of a video, that many doctors aren't accepting exchange based insurance? Why don't you supply us with a few more statistics, OP?
Take it up with the Alex Jones nutcases at CNN who produced the video.
I just became eligible for Medicare and was very happy about it. Why? The ONLY reason being that I was insured and Medicare would meet ACA. I would not have to pay the FINE. That is what I would have done.
I can count on one hand the number of times I have been to see a doctor in 30 years and that includes the years when I was insured with private insurance. MY last doctor was my OB/GYN who delivered my daugther in 1984. Couldn't keep him under any insurance, because he is probably dead by now.
You can keep all your FREE Medicare testings. You doctors will not be getting my business, Medicare or no Medicare. 100% reimbursement of NOTHING is still going to be NOTHING.
Reading this thread only confirms what I have always believed. Have a nice day, doctors. Go take your money, and retire to a deserted island somewhere far, far away from me.

Better watch what you declare - life has a way of sneaking up on you and biting you in the a**. You are 65 and have had no medical care since 1984? You are a health disaster waiting to happen...

I also live in such a place. However, I and my neighbors are a minority population in Miami-Dade Cty. Lots of poor folks down here who cannot pay for medical care.
Most minorites that I see ONLY use cash. They work under the table and don't use bank accounts to hide their assets from the IRS.
It's time to start turning people in for doing this.
