Too bad it's not true, isn't it? The Greenland ice sheet has been rapidly losing mass over recent years. Scientists are recording increased sea level rise at a compatible rate to the ice loss.
Meanwhile, though the Antarctic sea ice is increasing, land ice (the ice cap) is consistently decreasing.
Greenland used to be GREEN, hence the name. Maybe it's returning to what it is supposed to be?
Ice density is the measurement of how dense ice is. The growing ice in the South Pole has a much lower ice density, so while it looks like more, it is actually losing density as it continues to spread outward and melt.
I dont know what you think you are saying, but what you are telling me is that you dont know jack about the science of water.
Water is at its densest at 4 degrees centigrade. As the temperature drops below that and water turns to ice, it expands and yes ice is less dense than water, which is why it floats (and thank goodness that it does!)
Ice at the South pole is the same as ice anyplace else. The reason that ice at the south pole, as you drill down through the icecap, is denser is because of compression of the weight of the ice as it accumulates.

When the Vikings colonized Greenland neighborhood 1000 AD it was a green, fertile place. Was there an icecap on Greenland at the time. Yes, but it was much smaller than it is today. The coasts were beautiful, much like many other coastal areas around the world.
Then came the Little Ice Age, neighborhood 1250 AD depending upon whom you believe. The Vikings were frozen out of Greenland due to the expanding ice.
Then comes us modern folk. We see the Greenland ice cap "shrinking" (actually just returning to what is was 12oo years ago) and we - well actually you alarmists - start screaming that the icecap is melting and its all because of CO2.
You and your fellow travelers really ought to do a little basic research before you start screaming that the sky is falling and only the destruction of our economy will "fix" the problem.
He says that the models aren't very good. He doesn't deny that anthropogenic global warming occurs, but he thinkgs the models may overstate it. He also says that we should continue studying it and improving the models. There are other scientists with credentials similar to his who disagree with him - smart people can disgree - but there is at least a general agreement that it needs to continue to be studied. This is different from the typical right-wing rhetoric, which is that the whole thing is bull**** and we shouldn't bother trying to investigate it.
All in all, he is an exceptionally smart man who has accomplished a lot. He make be right. I take his opinion seriously.
Oh, by the way: he also voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and opposed the war in Iraq. He is a non-denominational Christian who takes evolution seriously. He has supported nuclear disarmament and has contributed to Democrat party causes. Sounds like other than this, you wouldn't like him very much.

You are absolutely ignorant.
Your rudeness aside, you just agreed with me that the ice on the continent is more dense than the sea ice that is expanding.
I'm gonna have to look at this a couple of times before I feel confident to comment.
But thanks for the post.
