No, 99% are just hogwash, completely unbelievable. You can't just rush in blindly and believe every conspiracy theory there is....

Most of the conspiracy theories read like an poorly written science fiction or spy novel. Few of the talking heads have enough composure to be able to give an accurate outline of the theories without snickering. To be fair to the talking heads, it would take an Oscar winning performance to get through the outline.

Don't blame just the media. Most sane people also ridicule the conspiracies.

You are way over-thinking this. Why are conspiracies and conspiracy theories ridiculed by the media? Simple answer, because most of them are ridiculous.

What do you mean by "brainwashed programming?" I understand the thread title, but your post is a bit confusing. There's always Alex Jones if you want conspiracy programming.

I like science and nature programs, baseball and football, comedy like SNL and Parks And Recreation, drama like Law & Order, among others. How do any of these shows "go against" conspiracy theories? As far as news goes, like I said, there's Alex Jones. How could a news program get out the daily stories if it spent time on conspiracies?

Because they're worthy of ridicule.

People tend to fear controversy and anything that threatens their safe secure little worlds makes them extremely nervous.
If you can't deal with it, you don't want to deal with it. That's as crazy as believing every crackpot theory you hear, being a crackpot to believe everything you're told. That and some of the biggest crackpot theories come from those who want to discredit conspiracy theories.... when a plausible and possibly true conspiracy theory is presented its easier to dismiss.
The rest of us, we keep our eyes and ears open and minds open as well. Let's just say we're also skeptics just in a different way.

NSA spying on every American was until recently considered a conspiracy theory.

The USA using torture was considered a conspiracy theory not that long ago.

That the government would argue they can throw U.S. citizens in prison and deny them due process rights was considered a conspiracy theory not that long ago.

The reason they aren't easily dismissed is because too many of them have been true.

Indeed

The msm is corporate controlled disinfo.

The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists.''

"In politics, there are no accidents"

Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Anyone who has read factual history realizes they are being LIED to by their government. Americans are not yet ready to face facts that the U.K. and others have already seen about their government and what it is truly capable of.

Any American who takes the msm as a valid information source, clearly needs to educate themselves about propaganda and Edward Bernays

The Engineering of Consent" is an essay by Edward Bernays first published in 1947

He defines "engineering consent" as the art of manipulating people. It maintained that entire populations, which were undisciplined or lacking in intellectual or definite moral principles, were vulnerable to unconscious influence and thus susceptible to want things that they do not need. This was achieved by linking those products and ideas to their unconscious desires. Ernest Dichter, who is widely considered to be the "father of motivational research," referred to this as "the secret-self of the American consumer
In other words, consumer psychologists have already made the choice for people before they buy a certain product. This is achieved by manipulating desires on an unconscious level.
The central idea behind the engineering of consent is that the public or people should not be aware of the manipulation taking place.
The "Engineering Consent" chapter of Christopher Bryson's book The Fluoride Deception describes how Bernays helped the water fluoridation campaign in the USA.
