Why is this a surprise? pandering to gays, unions, hollywood elite, and now illegals.

"Are you better off than you were 4 years ago, which for 70%+ of Americans the response is a resounding "no".

So you are trying to create something to freak out when there is nothing to freak out about? You are aware young people can still join the military even though they are shrinking, right?

Last thing I want to see is a bunch of over-vaccinated zombies running loose in society.

Losing headcount for loss of need is standard in the military.

Last I saw, they were still enlisting. Like many middle management positions, lower level officers are sometimes let go due to a lack of need of a manager at their level.

Oh my god the horror, as we wind down military campaigns across the globe and need fewer soldiers...then people look for other jobs. Oh the humanity!

I thought the OP was for fiscal responsibility, and I don't think anything is more fiscally irresponsible than either keeping a large standing army for no reason but to keep those people employed with government spending...or starting wars across the globe just to keep those people in the military.

If your goal was to be a career-military person because serving the country is what you've always wanted to do, and that rug was ripped out from under you, what would you say then?

We should be cutting millitary across the board and certainly not using service to entice illegals.

Tell me again how the GOP is different than the Dems?

If you want to be a career military person, you try to get into the positions they will always need in the military, like shipping and receiving.
