During Monarchies, the taxmen were often given special privileges for their service to the State. Some things never change.

Apparently.

But we'll just keep being fed the line that there's not a smidgen of corruption within the IRS...

According to the change was made in 2010 where they no longer paid bonuses to deliquent execs, and is looking to be extended to regular employees. This change was made under Obama's administration...and these bonuses were fully paid out during every previous administration to delinquent employees.

Talk about storm in a teacup. The IRS is at fault because Obama is in charge...but all the prior administrations are off the hook that didn't do this because well they aren't Obama. Since it takes time to do policy changes I guess he's Caeser...without the conquering of Gaul, civil war, dictatorship or assassination.

"Regulations for thee, but not for me."

That... plus a free pass for a liberal administration from the media, which has a constitutional protection for the purpose of making sure they can always discover and publish such wrongdoing to the people the govt is supposed to serve.

About $1 million of that money was given as bonuses to 1,100 employees who were in trouble over tax related issues.

The tax problems include willful understatement of tax liabilities, late payments and under-reporting of income, according to the report issued by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.

The report says that providing awards to employees who fail to pay taxes "appears to create a conflict with the IRS's charge of ensuring the integrity of the system of tax administration."

Now they will have a lot of reason to go out dancing. Oh wait, why wait until after work when they can do it when they are at work and on our money.
