Well, until recently the only people who got married BY LAW, were one man and one woman.

So much for your argument.

so why should the people that don't follow your religion (or, heck, your interpretation of your religion) be forced to live by its teachings. If a Muslim or Hindu tried to force you to live their way, I bet you'd be infuriated, and rightfully so. What makes Christianity so special that, unlike the other faiths, even those that don't believe should be forced to abide by it?

Where do you find God showing compassion and caring for debauchery? Can you give me the scripture references where he had compassion and caring for homosexuality, and even approved of homosexual marriage?

What did God mean when he said, "The two shall become one flesh?" (and he was speaking of a man leaving his mother and father and cleaving to his wife).

This has nothing to do with what was fought for in the civil rights era. This isn't about race.

Why do homosexuals hate Christians who believe God's word? You are a hypocrite.

It's not racist, but it's not sensible. Gay marriage makes total 100% sense. It helps the economy because businesses that plan weddings and travel arrangements for the marriages will see higher revenues, and therefore more tax dollars going to the government, which is a good thing. It also encourages monogamous relationships to prevent the spread of disease and promote a more stable lifestyle. It also makes people HAPPY, which happens to be a GOOD thing.

By not having gay marriage, it's not like gays will suddenly want to marry someone of the opposite sex. Please.

Why? Who decided that it was okay for two men or two women to "marry?" Being against debauchery is not bigoted.

Was Jesus a bigot?

believe God's word all you want. But don't force anyone else to, or try to base laws around your specific religion. Your standards of debauchery are yours, so you have every right to keep them out of your home and, if the community agrees, your church. Your standards don't apply anywhere else. Sorry.

That's what people have been saying very recently yes. Doesn't make it true.

Who decided that it was NOT okay for two men or two women to marry?

And, characterization of a same sex relationship of "debauchery" is pretty much a bigoted thing to say.

Who knows. The dude hung around with a bunch of other dudes and apparently was a virgin his whole life, so maybe topics of sexuality wasn't his specialty.

The word "bigot" has the power to destroy. That's why they use it.

Because your belief is used to OPPRESS homosexuals and STRIP THEM OF THEIR RIGHTS as free citizens.

If all you did was "believe" and not take the next step to USE THAT BELIEF AGAINST OTHERS, there would be no conflict.

I love bacon and pork chops. Jews and Muslims think it's against God. However, they do not try to make it illegal for me to eat bacon because THEIR god and holy book says it's forbidden.

Why is it hard for Christians to take a similar stance? Why can Christians support OTHER things being legal in this country that also go against the Bible? For example, Christians support divorce being legal. They also don't make nearly as big a fuss over the morality of divorce, all call divorcees all sorts of names. Similarly, most Christians claim they support the freedom and right to worship other Gods. Both are against the Bible. Especially the latter.
