Having said that, I do think there is an anti-education/anti-intellectual sentiment among a segment of the far right. Do they want to ban universities? I'm sure not, but this sentiment does exist.

Of course he wasn't joking and he even confirms that in this thread.

The real benefit of a Forum like City-Data is to expose this type of thinking. Most reasonable people have no idea about the thought processes of these people - it's a true wake-up call to read what they write. None of them are "joking" and when called on it ..... they will actually admit they aren't 'joking'.

They definitely despise education, but I never heard them say they want to ban universities. Defunding them is another matter.

Im a conservative and, last time I checked, I have a piece of paper from one of those God forsaken places - in a nice frame in fact - that says I earned something or other.
