Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal today signed into law a wide-ranging gun bill that has critics howling and proponents applauding
House Bill 60, or the Safe Carry Protection Act of 2014 -- which opponents have nicknamed the "guns everywhere bill" -- specifies where Georgia residents can carry weapons. Included are provisions for taking guns into some bars, churches, school zones, government buildings and certain parts of airports.

Property and business owners should determine carry rules, not politicians.

A link would be nice.

It does not sound like Georgia's new law is not much different from Alaska's existing law. You can carry any firearm, openly or concealed, in Alaska. No permit required.

I mean it, they are going way to far and being caught for the corruptness they spew....

Actually they are proving to America what a few of us have been preaching for years, just how totally corrupt they all are.

They do.

If a business has it posted "No Firearms" then you can be cited if you bring a firearm into their establishment. The same thing is true for individual property owners. In the 23 years I have lived in Alaska, I have only seen one business that had posted "No Firearms" on their place of business. I know of no one in Alaska that prohibits firearms in their home.

Glitch, I can understand Alaska, really I can, but not GA, that is where so so so many crazies are, in all these larger cities. Your going to have people going out and purchasing guns simply b/c they can, and then walking around playing vigulantee...

Alaska is still pure pristine wilderness.....where you need to have some form of protection against the elements of the wilderness....GA certainly does not.

yeah, but again, GA is not Alaska....it's a whole different ball game.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it really scares me to think of this....

and will give kids more access to guns....who will take them to school and shoot some kid that is bothering them....yanno?

There are a whole lot of irresponsible crazies in the U.S.

GeorgiaCarry, which lobbied for the bill, calls it "meaningful pro-gun legislation," despite it being watered down from the group's perspective. Still, the group has lauded the legislation, which will go into effect July 1. Americans for Responsible Solutions opposed the bill, calling it "extremism in action."
