How does talking tough equate to protecting yourself? After the fact is something different, do you have time to make that decision and worry about the consequences after, at that moment?

bUU, will not answer the questions the rest of us ask him or her. He/she refuses to explain why he believes the intruder should have the right to take what doesn't belong to him/her. There is no point in trying to have a rational discussion because it isn't going to happen.
It all goes back to the leftist belief that it's to take from one and give to another as long as there is 'need' or the other is of a favored class. Not a big leap from the government doing it to someone engaging in a little personal enterprise.

Depends on what state you're in. In my state if someone breaks into your house it is lawful to use lethal force against them regardless of age or armed status.
