The OP illustrates perfectly the mindset that fuels liberal ideology: That bigger government and more spending are the cure to the nation's woes.
As if the federal government has EVER managed taxpayer dollars well.
I'd like for the OP to point me to a time, a program, an instance of where bigger government with more spending actually resulted in something good, efficient, and effective.
So you are saying, "Thanks for your service veterans of war. Now get lost!"
Because the Republicans never take accountability or responsibility.
Your man Barack does not even blame the Republicans this time:
"Part of that is going to be technology. Part of that is management," the President said. "But as Ric Shinseki himself indicated, there is a need for a change in culture within the VHA, and perhaps the VHA as a whole -- or the VA as a whole that makes sure that bad news gets surfaced quickly so that things can be fixed."
We all have budget restraints. Letting your customers die to meet budget is never an option. Why does that even have to be stated?

It took a whistleblower to surface the bad news.
That's government "accountability" these days..whistleblowers uncovering the truth.

Apparently U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) recognized a need when he proposed a bill to expand a wide range of veterans benefits and strengthen support for servicemembers and their families.

Maybe if we vote for every spending bill that has ever been proposed no one will ever die.
Yup..if the Republicans would just rubber stamp every bill that comes up America will become "utopia".
Dems are falling all over themselves trying to get bills proposed now so they can say they tried.
A little too late IMHO.
