Because the Klan is an embodiment of far right ideologies in the US.

It SEEMS that way to me, given that no socialists or liberal Democrats or any leftists for that matter have been elected to the presidency that I can think of (maybe Roosevelt could be considered liberal...or maybe it was just Eleanor, based on some things I have read recently. Carter seems to have been more conservative than I thought at the time).
You'll need to define what you mean by right-wing to have a honest discussion.

The terms "left" and "right" have American definitions and then they have real definitions. They're pretty irrelevant in American politics.
lol...How utterly wrong and delusional. We are center right country. Obama and the Dems are FAR left and I suppose you are too if that is your take on things.

Then why do they try and tell a woman what she can do with a body, or try and control who can marry who? If they didn't want to be controlled by the government, they would take a hands off approach to those issues.

Oh wait, you mean most want to live their lives without being told what to do by the government, providing of course the government matches what they want to do. Gotcha!

For the record, the U.S. is a right-wing country, far more so than most other first world countries.

They may be religious conservatives, but that does not make then a Constitutional Conservative. Plenty of religious cons would love it if the US government created laws and ran the country according to the word of God, whichever god it is they worship.

Hard to answer that, since I have no way to tell what you mean by "right-wing," and from the usuual definitons of the phrase I'd seriously have to disagree with you.

Our government is very right-wing compared to other rich democracies. And the people who bother to vote tend to be fairly conservative. However, the American people in general are much more to the left in their views on social issues and big business than is reflected by our elected officials. American Politics Are Moving to the Left

I agree; I am from Canada and we have right-wing politicians of course but they are to the left of Americans. There do seem to be quite a few who are difficult to pin down in the US.
