Less care with private healthcare? Less? Ya, for the money. Our Vets should be well taken care of... Then your have your idea of cost effective. Get rid of all the bureaucratic hands that are between the doctor and the veteran and it may be cost effective.

I got hernia surgery, the day after diagnosis. I waited 18 hours. Not months. That is cost effective.
The months on the wait list are because of an inadequate supply due to lack of funds. Diverting those scant funds to pay for costlier private care would be exactly the same except worse. You're making an assertion that is directly contradicted by studies showing that VA is more efficient than private health care per dollar spent.

Thinking people will never forget. Let the low information crowd live in their FOX News bubble, while the majority of Americans will continue to place blame where blame belongs.

Why don't they just insert a string in the back of her neck that when pulled makes her say"George Bush did it!" That woman is as stupid as a bag of hair.

But the sad thing is no republican here talks about the veterans having problems, rather they just want to insult Nancy Pelosi.

I wish sometimes Nancy Pelosi and even GW Bush could be put to the side, and then people talk about the veterans. Our war veterans went through hell over there. Example, many of them have nightmares seeing dead children, and seeing their friends killed.

Many veterans have problems when they come home, too bad we don't have more respect for them. But as Nancy Pelosi says "her party has worked hard for veterans in recent years."

Which indicates that you think Obama is blameless? Really?

Try again.

As is not placing at least part of the blame on Obama.

He pulled us out with no casualties or injured, right? Talk about "revisionist" thinking.

Iraq should have been invaded in 1991 the way it was in 2003. Sadly the UN didn't want to convict Saddam of war crimes. If we did that, maybe the Kuwait oil fields would not have been set ablaze as the Iraqi soldiers had to evacuate. It's not like the WoMD were a new development in Iraq. We all knew they used biological weapons on "the infidels."

Who apologized for Bush?

Your hate for the right is fogging your ability to think rationally. Obama owns the VA scandal. Aren't you tired of defending corruption?

You are using the root cause to excuse the current abuse of power.

At least independents are honest about placing blame where it belongs. Bush isn't blameless by any stretch of the imagination, but you people are doing for Obama what you accuse conservatives of doing for Bush.

THAT is hypocrisy!

Check this out. Here is proof the government doesn't know how to manage anything.

How VA hospitals are a government-run disaster | New York Post

Enrollment in VA services has increased by 13% from 2007 to 2012. Despite a 76% increase in expenditures ($24 billion) over that period.

So the VA costs have nearly doubled in 5 years, even though enrollment for services only increased 17%.

All of you blaming Bush for the wars can suck it. It's all about how much cream these bureaucrats can skim, and our veterans are paying with their lives!

The Cleveland clinic handles 1/3rd as many patients at 1/10th the cost.
