I saw this thread, and last night decided to record the interview of Brigitte Gabriel and and the woman named Ahmed on the Sean Hannity show.
I watched about 10 minutes and it was clear as day that this woman refused to be critical of anything Islamists are doing. One by one, Hannity asked her about Sharia laws which permit the stoning women to death, denying them the right to drive, denying them the right to go to school, and her responses were to say a lot of countries have customs she does not agree with. When asked about women required to have three males witnesses for rape, she only says she is opposed to rape, and on, and on, and on...
When asked if she would denounce Sharia laws for forcing women to cover their faces in public in places like Saudi Arabia, she only says that she wears a veil in the US. When asked is she opposes Sharia laws that don't allow to go out in public alone, she says there are a lot of places in the world she'd prefer not to be alone in etc...
She's the typical tight-lipped, invisible Muslim who refuses to denounce the horrible things going on around the world, being done in the name of Islam. Hannity may as well have had Jay Carney on the show, trying to get him to be critical of anything to do with Obama.
Why anyone would expect to go on Sean Hannity and have a fair and intelligent discussion. A majority of Muslims are decent people, doctors, lawyers and middle class that want the same things we do.
Brigitte Gabriel is just the token self-hating Arab. She is of Lebanese Maronite Christian background, but even most Maronites want nothing to do with her.
She speaks at AIPAC and right-wing events as the token Arab. She has been proven to be a liar, making up stories of "Israeli kindness" and "Muslim hostility."
Don't take her words as biblical truth. She's made a career out of being self-hating.

There were several or more Muslim surgeons(worked at the hospital at the time of the tornado) that operated on many of those injured in the Joplin Mo tornado.They lost their homes as well. They were still badmouthed by many so called citizens and their Mosque as burnt down. irrc

Just to give another example. I have a right-wing friend - total Creationist, etc. - who lives in a wealthy part of central Maryland.
Well, a MUSLIM couple moved in across the street! He was, of course, all up in arms about this. He flat-out told me that they "must be terrorists!" and "how they are taking over this nation!" and how "as a good Christian, he wasn't going to let his daughter near their kids!" and all that typical, judgmental, right-wing crap.
Eventually, he somehow gets to know them better, and it turns out that... the husband works for NSA (language and cultures of the Middle East, etc.) Yeah... those scary, terrorist Muslims that work for NSA... derp...
Now, he just pretends they don't exist - because to do otherwise would be to admit that his gross assumptions and bigotry turned out to be incorrect.
Why aren't the peaceful Muslims "doing something about it?" Umm... because they don't own their own personal armies, which is what would be required to topple the crazy dictators and terrorists that haunt the Middle East and corrupt their religion. The peaceful ones HAVE spoken out against the violence, but that is not part of the agenda that sells in this nation - or anywhere else - so their protests are simply not covered by the news.
Heck, look at the idiocy of the Iraqi war, and this nation is technically a democracy and "peaceful Americans" couldn't even stop that one from happening in their own nation! How the heck are people in non-democracies or far removed from the Middle East supposed to stop the violence from happening there if we couldn't stop our own leaders from going off the rails?!
No, the "what are you doing something to stop it!" is just the usual right-wing blather - the standard attempt to paint an entire religion as violent.

The early israelis put down a number of their own militias that were unwilling to join the IDF under a single command umbrella, and even in nazi germany there were instances of the wehrmacht taking out SS garrisons that refused to surrender.
Given the insane amounts of terrorism worldwide from muslims, the sheer number of street and towns named after "martyred" suicide bombers, the legion of muslim-government-led demonstrations extolling violence and murder, the broadly-based muslim cultural affinity with terrorism supported by dozens of polls across muslim-majority countries, the widespread oppression/murder/mistreatment of women, minorities, and non-muslims, to even pretend to claim that islam is not a death cult or that it drives a huge number of muslims to terrorism and violence is simply laughable.
If there were a majority of muslims who did not believe in terrorism or violence, far fewer would be practicing it.
Brigitte Gabriel did not actually live under jihadist oppression.
She grew up in the Lebanese civil war, which started when SECULAR Palestinian nationalists (Muslims and Christians) clashed with Lebanese (Shia Muslims and Christians) in south Lebanon. No sectarian element here. Jihadists were still not much of a thing in the 1970s.
It was, in fact, her right-wing Maronite Christian militia heroes who carried out much of the sectarian killings during that war, stopping people at checkpoints and killing them if they were Muslim, carrying out massacres like the one at Sabra and Shatila in 1982.
Her claims are all lies. No one takes her seriously, this thread is giving her the publicity most don't give her because they know she's a liar who is only given a platform at AIPAC events.

You want numbers, I'll be HAPPY to start posting arab muslim polls across the mideast showing widespread support for terrorism. Don't go down there, you won't like what you find out, it might actually force you to think for yourself and not accept and embrace the nonsense that MSNBC and the NY Times feeds you...

Can someone please point out where Brigitte Gabriel has condemned actions by radical Christians in the Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Russia, and, yes, the USA? Most Christians are peaceful but I rarely see Christians speak out against those who are not, including the ones who targeted my family with violence growing up in the American South. The peaceful majority of Christians are irrelevant to me - after all, what does that matter when no one speaks out against the radicals or instead invokes the "no true Scotsman" fallacy. Let's take political correctness and throw it in the garbage where it belongs.
