If we’re going to continue with our present course of perpetual war then shouldn't we reinstate the draft so all patriotic Americans get a chance to serve?

So then people who want to join the armed forces can't because the ranks are filled with people forced to join.

Perpetual war means everybody will eventually get their chance to serve.

If the children of the wealthy were also asked to contribute I believe this country would have a different attitude towards war. My belief is that it's time to demand that everyone contribute regardless of their economic status. There is no higher honor than to serve one's nation and every citizen should have the opportunity to show their full last measure of devotion.

Perpetual war means the participants are just too damn stupid to figure out better alternatives.

If they're so patriotic, why should they be forced to serve? What branch were you in?

Nope. I'm nobody's pawn or property. Now, should this country fall under attack and there was an attempt by a foreign nation to occupy us, you wouldn't need to draft me, because I'd be there defending my home. Without question!

Sure, as long as it's voluntary like NFL and other sports drafts.
