Geeze!

Wingnuts live in fear of EVERYTHING.
I swear, modern "Conservatism" is a mental illness - what else do you call it when people are afraid and paranoid about everything?

Ken
Don't be too hard on them. The poor dears can't help it. From the survivalist sites for when the poop hits the fan, to Ebola, to needing their guns to fend off attackers at church, to xenophobia to commies, to homophobia...they're wired that way. There's danger to life and limb under every rock and behind every bush.

A study at University College London in the UK has found that conservatives’ brains have larger amygdalas than the brains of liberals. Amygdalas are responsible for fear and other “primitive” emotions. At the same time, conservatives’ brains were also found to have a smaller anterior cingulate — the part of the brain responsible for courage and optimism.
If the study is confirmed, it could give us the first medical explanation for why conservatives tend to be more receptive to threats of terrorism, for example, than liberals. And it may help to explain why conservatives like to plan based on the worst-case scenario, while liberals tend towards rosier outlooks.

Study: Conservatives have larger ‘fear center’ in brain

There is no doom except in the dark realms of a Conservative brain.

This means that if a wife is cheating on her husband and gets infected with the virus, she will most likely pass the virus to her husband in less than a year if they have a healthy sex life. That rate of transition significantly increases if her husband has regular anal sex with her or the couple has sex while the woman is menstruating, which is not too uncommon for a married couple.
Once again....100% preventable.

The bottom line is that there was no political motive for Ebola research, therefore, no profit motive.

AIDS receives BILLIONS yet continues to spread even though people fully understand how it's transmitted.

I couldn't find anything that quotes Dr. Drew as having said that.

Many people are attracted to the same sex at some point in their lives. Human sexuality is not simply 100% heterosexual or 100% homosexual. It exists in many forms.
I'm speaking about the USA, not the world.

Since you're the one who brings up homosexual sex, you're the one who connected the activity to sexual orientation or that anyone deserves it. I stated a fact for HIV in the USA. A vast majority of sexually transmitted HIV is from an act that doesn't produce a child.

Then you must be a closet conservative, because I haven't seen too many posts by you indicating a rosy outlook on anything.

The woman who flew in Charlotte from Africa and got sick was diagnosed with Malaria.

The WH said Obama's meeting with the leaders of 40 African nations in the WH next week will not be cancelled.

The CDC has issued warnings to airlines to watch for symptoms.

This time is different because the outbreaks are not in remote areas.

If this African summit is so important, why doesn't Obama fly there instead of inviting large contingents of people from all the infected countries here? He doesn't want to hurt their feelings, or hurt their economy by creating a panic? Even the president of Liberia is saying this could become a global pandemic.

I think people are taking this threat way too lightly. I'm not being panicked, but what do we have a World Health Organization for if not for containing something like this? When a doctor taking all precautions still contracts the disease, perhaps from a contaminated decontamination room, I really don't know what to think. If the doctor didn't get it from handling bodies, but may have picked it up in a room where another worker may have had the disease, how did he get it? It seems like it's not just people handling dead bodies like all previous outbreaks, and that is a little worrisome.

The bottom line is that Ebola doesn't infect millions of people, and the infection tends to rear its head in impoverished, isolated areas. A cure for Ebola would not reap millions in profits. And while medical research talks about curing AIDS, the BILLIONS that have gone to AIDS research seem to have gone to managing AIDS. Pharmaceutical companies are ALL about profits, and it's much more profitable to manage diseases than to cure them, as long as the disease infects enough people.
