It sounds like Dick Cheney is angling to be the first Tea Party-Republican candidate for President. In Montana last night Cheney blamed Obama and food stamps for cuts to the defense budget. I guess Cheney and the rest of the Tea Party-Republican types would rather spend $100 billion a year fighting wars in Iraq-Afghanistan rather than have a budget for food stamps at $80 billion. The trouble with the Tea Party-Republican types they conveniently forget about the cost of the VA which will be pushing $200 billion per year, add that to $520 billion defense spending. With Tea Party-Republican math $720 billion is equal to $80 billion Snap. Cheney conveniently seems to forget the three trillion dollar cost of the war as do most Republicans...but of course they can blame it on Obama. Naturally there is silence from Republicans on the cost of the wars.

You're so confused, but it's not your fault because undoubtedly it;'s being presented to you as fact & you just repeat what you hear. Dick Cheney is a GOP/Neocon mouthpiece, the polar opposite of small Government, lower taxes, America-first, etc. platform that the Tea Party is allegedly about. Cheney & the NeoCons are actually very Progressive in their views. They support non stop wars/militarism, Corporate/Government rule, massive spending & global economy/governance.

Among other reasons, he probably hates SNAP because it doesn't funnel money directly to Halliburton or any other company of which he is a beneficiary.

While anything is possible and rumors abound that he might run for President,
and he does have a new heart, he is still a heartless war hawk.

Do you not agree that some cuts had to be made in order to feed all the non working poor and (legal/illegal) immigrant sector of this country? Where do you think that money is going to come from?

Money that could be spent on finding better ways to kill people are being used to feed the hungry. Outrage?

I do not agree. There is NOTHING in the Constitution about feeding people but there is something about raising and supporting an army and navy.

Just read Article 1, Section 8 at this link - Transcript of the Constitution of the United States - Official Text

Anything to take money out of the Pentagon trough is fine with me. Food Stamps or otherwise.
