"But starting today we will also respectfully request that guests not bring firearms to Target..."

Seems to me the key word there is "request". They are not making a "requirement" or a "demand", they are making a REQUEST!

As always, their store, they make the rules. Or, in this case, the REQUEST.

The decision follows protests orchestrated by Moms Demand Action for Gun
Sense in America, a gun control group that in recent months achieved what once
seemed like an unlikely goal: convincing many major American companies to take a
stance on guns.
Meh, let the mommies demanding action have target and the few other little chain shops they've been able to get to release a statement on the issue.

Governor Christy just vetoed a bill that would have banned magazines over ten rounds and banned some guns outright,

Good! I'm glad for you.... Please don't try and force your decision on someone else....

Gun controlers need a victory wherever they can find one.

They have to try and gin up momentum, even if that means lying to people.

Many people never need safety belts but that doesn't mean you shouldn't wear one.

Target can do what they want but the only legal recourse they have here in PA is to eject you from the store. If I want to walk into their store with concealed weapon there isn't damn thing they can do about it.

The mommies demanding action??? Why are you belittling them. So let me ask you this. When carrying your gun in public how many rapes and robberies have you thwarted.....none, so get over yourself and stop demeaning mothers.

No, I never carry a firearm I don't even own one but it doesn't bother me to see someone wearing a gun.

I will follow the law and if they don't want concealed handgun carriers in their stores, then they need to post the appropriate signage as required by law. I will follow the law, but I'm not going to take my gun out of my purse and leave it in the car just to go into Target if I am carrying, and just because Target "requests" it.

And, it isn't that I feel the "need" to carry a gun in Target; it's that if I NEED a gun in Target (think the Austin Walmart just a couple of years ago), I sure want to have it!
So telling you that they don't want it in their stores isn't enough? You are still going to disrespect their establishment by bringing in a firearm. You don't need a gun in target.
