This could be a fight that Perry will regret picking. Perry has been getting a lot of ink and face time on TV and has used it giving his hawkish views and referring to Paul as a isolationist and a danger. In this scathing editorial Paul rips on Perry's foreign policy views and defends his position. It is a good read, Paul gets long winded and could have done with out the Reagan references but still worth while. It will be interesting after getting ripped by Paul if Perry will respond.

Not always a huge fan of Rand but this time he nailed it Big Time. Many in Texas know Perry for what he is and what he isn't, he is Not Whitehouse material, heck he isn't much of Governor and thankfully is headed out the door.

Yup, I like Rick Perry as a person and as a governor he's fine but
when it comes to understanding the world, he's just a dumb ol' hick
that will be abused by the neocons. Kind of like baby Bush.

I loathed everything about Rick Perry before and needless to say, this does not break his streak.

From the aticle in the OP...

In fact, some of Perry’s solutions for the current chaos in Iraq aren’t much different from what I’ve proposed, something he fails to mention. His solutions also aren’t much different from President Barack Obama’s, something he also fails to mention. Because interestingly enough, there aren’t that many good choices right now in dealing with this situation in Iraq.

Sounds like they all have the same answers... look at how that has turned out. Right now, nobody has credibility in dealing in the middle east.

---------------------------------

Anytime someone advocates sending our sons and daughters to war, questions about precise objectives, effective methods and an exit strategy must be thoughtfully answered. America deserves this. Our military certainly deserves this.

Actually - there has never been a real plan for victory and an exit strategy. The enemy has a plan for victory... on multiple levels. For some reason we can't get one plan down pat.

Just differing degrees of intervention seperate the two viewpoints. They are both wrong.

Calling Paul an isolationist? Perry yet again embarrasses himself with his ignorance.

Sadly, I think the Republican base would back Perry over Paul. All Perry needs to do is start talking about religion, traditional families, and bragging about the number of people he's executed in Texas. That'll bring most Republicans to their feet in rapturous applause.

I like what Rand Paul is saying, but he's still willing to be involved in Iraq with air strikes, Intel, etc..and that's unacceptable to me.

Rick Perry? Buffoon.
