Supporters of Mireille Miller-Young cite the "cultural legacy of slavery" and even the effects of pregnancy to explain why the feminist studies professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara would accost a teenager spreading a pro-life message on campus.
Came here ask the same question. Might as well say the professor was forced to slap her by a gun wielding maniac dressed as Daffy Duck.
A supporters letter, entered as part of her defense package did.
So, while she did not make the statement and the thread title is wrong....she did enter in as evidence a supporters letter that was using it as an excuse.
Had she not entered he letter as part of her defense then the title would be absolutely wrong.
If the title was "Professors defense cites slavery as mitigating factor in the case where she struck a kid" then it would be 100% accurate.

Professor in Feminist Studies. What a completely worthless job skill.
Talk about a disease of the first world. I would rather one of my daughters be a janitor or drive a garbage truck. I would be more proud to tell people about that career than a Professor of Feminist Studies.
I know this much, they don't go around assaulting people they disagree with. I guess that's what you learn in college on the way to a PHD in feminist studies right?

Oh yes, let's extrapolate from the actions of one person about an entire profession. Absolutely ludicrous. I'm sure that no janitor nor a single person in X profession has ever assaulted someone.
