I want to ask because some are under the impression that only minorities are subject to police profiling. What about whites? Have any of you been stopped by the police on false pretenses?

If you're in a predominately black neighborhood they will stop you and ask questions. They then make up a story about how they thought your license plate light was off, but now that they can see it better its fine.
if your 18 and driving a jacked up car you might as well wave a flag.. I imagine red sportscars get attention.. I'm kind of sick and tired of all this race crap and threads...
If you drive/walk around after midnight you get unwanted attention, no matter what race you are. Just read the crime blotters for your area, probably 80% of crime takes place after 10pm.
Same goes for if you are wearing your hat backwards while driving, leaning way back in your seat and playing music really loud.
People get mad when they are paid extra attention but then do a bunch of things that draw extra attention.

Yes, have a friend that often works in the black neighborhoods in Boston, and he's been stopped a few times since he is white and needs to drive his own car. He shows his work ID (that clarifies why he is there) and they typically send him on his way.

Is it because they suspect the only reason a white person would be in a black area is to buy drugs?

if you have to ask, then you already have your answer.
I've only hear about profiling from minorities. I've never heard whites complain about being stopped for no reason by cops.
because it rarely, if ever, happens...
