How do you know that the mosque preaches hate, did you attend a session, or were there complaints?

If you ever wanted proof that the City Data forums skew towards right-wing, paranoid, militant, fundy Christian, Obama-bashing, Fox News-watching Republicans, this thread is all you need.

I have been across the Pacific to Japan/Korea and back to here....lots of water that's for sure.

Have never crossed the Atlantic...don't care to but have NO fear of ISIS crossing it to hassle the US one way or the other.

One thing the US does is try to force our Democratic society on to other nations that prefer a Dictator/Tyrant form of Govmt that has been their norm for at least 2000 yrs......why do we still insist on changing their views?.

As for the foreign oil....most of the US would gladly let them eat it when they get hungry along with the fact they overcharge us and then we also supply them with a Military force when needed....something that they could easily afford.

Problem with many here is a desire for things but when the chance is discussed the answer is "not in my back yard".

I remember some yrs back when there was a protest of the Oil drilling etc off the coast of Santa Barbara Ca.

These protesters did not walk or ride a horse/buggy to Santa Barbara but took Vehicles and Busses powered by Gas etc derived from OIL.....seemed that they wanted their cake and to eat it also.

I have jumped around here a wee bit....just too many things to discuss.

I have been to Japan and Korea wearing a US military uniform and have seen people stare at me and at times wondered what was going thru their minds......same could be said of our troops in Iraq etc.....they don't want us there.

Look what happened with the Military equipment that was abandoned by the Iraq troops that is now being used to transport the ISIS on their rampage.

When in Korea a unit on our right flank was overrun and abandoned by our own troops and the C****** fired our own weapons and our ammo back at us....a similarity with the ISIS.

Yes. The war on the ground over there will stay on the ground over there.

Do we need to worry about terrorists here? Yes, but not a single one will be one of those on the ground over there. If the US killed a hundred thousand fighters over there, the terrorists over here are still being manufactured by the Saudi Wahabi "terrorist factories" already in US prisons and Wahabi masjids in US cities.

It's nothing to panic about but, yes, American citizens are fighting for IS in Syria and Iraq and it's not unlikely that they will return to The U.S. as radicalized, hardened soldiers who wouldn't think twice about dying in the act of killing Americans. There are probably no more than a few dozen at the moment, but the UK and Europe have thousands of citizens fighting for IS. There will likely be blood upon their return.

Britain has a huge problem, and to some extent their problem is our problem, because they are allowing UK born Muslims to have no less than "Saudi Arabia in Britain" and it's going to be difficult for the US to block British passports.

Americans in the US...as noted, the government knew about McCain. There is something to be said for the NSA.

We don't have to make it as hard as full energy independence. We just need to stop buying Arabian oil. And cut off those new Nigerian oil contracts right now--we don't need to get addicted to yet another Muslim oil source.

The really awful thing is that these groups, like ISIS, are funded by nutjob religious Wahab freakshows with lots of oil money from Saudi Arabia and other oil producing sunni states. The Shias are no better. Since the Saudis are our client state, it is ironic that many of their wealthy subject-citizens are funding the nutjobs who want to bring death and destruction to us.

Britain has done a huge disservice to itself by allowing so many muslims into their country.
