If 'these welfare programs' are the subsidies given to Big Oil, Big Farm and Big Pharm...the left complains about them all the time. We've been saying for years that the real welfare queens are corporations who benefit from gov't money, low rents for gov't lands, and tax giveaways of appalling proportions. Not to mention paying their employees so little that We the People subsidize their income through food stamps, etc.
Maybe you just haven't been listening.
I guess not. I can get no one to join my in the arguments against these programs.
But they define profits as "money the government let them keep", which is equated to welfare.
No, it's actually the complete opposite. Welfare is being given money for doing nothing. Corporations are keeping their own money that they earned and was already theirs.

Kind of ironic when there are more than a few businesses existing today only because of government intervention. Staying out of the business of businesses should go both ways.

Got any examples of businesses created by government intervention?

Completely and totally irrelevant to what I said. If you don't want to address what I said, I understand but don't make up positions for me to argue against.

It may not be my business, but big corporations are making record profits and I think they can afford to pay their entry level employees a decent wage.
