The question should be: do Black people even want self determination? It seems clear to me that they do not.

I can't believe 6 people actually have voted yes...

It's really quite shocking. This is something I'd expect if it were 1960, but I thought we've gotten past that. Even if racism isn't the reason for voting yes, and they just think in order to 'calm the storm,' separation is the best approach, it's still sad. It's a cop out solution to a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place.

Just WOW!!! Black people do have self determination. We have elected legislators, appointed cabinet members, as well as volunteers that are dedicated to working for the people. To not recognize this shows a complete ignorance of the reality of how the American republic works...

Sounds good to me. The way things are going there will be a huge civil war within 100 years if not sooner...this wonderful melting pot liberals have tried to force together has never worked and never will work.

If Black people wanted self determination then they wouldn't have demanded to live in White neighborhoods and send their kids to White schools. You think having a Black representatives in government is self determination? If that's the case then I expect you not to complain about Blacks being oppressed by Whites in the future.

Why would "afroamericans" who were born and raised in America want to leave the country they are originated from?

Really?! If that was the case for everyone then America would simply be uninhabited by ANYONE but the native americans.

Why would the indians be any different? Who was here BEFORE them?

Instead of whining about white oppression .. why not 'bus in' whitey to those Afrocentric Hoods so that some form of civility can pull those cesspools out of the cr@pper?

btw: Afro/Americans .. as they are wont to call themselves leads me to believe that they already have a place to go!

Too: As C-D's self appointed Uncle Tom, I like being right where I am.
(A mixed race, upper middle class, law abiding neighborhood in middle America)

Well maybe Not in the Middle of America but .. you get the gist!
Tomming around is called out by others so you can't really self-appoint that title. That said being Afrocentric requires studying. Most of the lower level economic black areas are in the predicament that they are in because the of a lack of Afrocentric studying... Busing in white folk is/was never the answer to poverty in the black community and the suggestion is rooted in white supremacist ideology...

Erm. I don't know if this was directed towards me. But if it was, no one that I can think of..or at least have learned in institutionalized education.
