Clue: when a police officer says drop the gun, do not argue, do not wave it around, do not point it at anyone, Drop the Darn Thing or the next sound you hear will be "Welcome to the Pearly Gates". This is neither New News or Rocket Science, law enforcement has a low tolerance for those with weapons in their hands, they have a public to defend and they have themselves to defend, obey their orders and live to bi*ch about it later, or don't and your time here has run out. Real Simply Folks.
Yup, pretty simple.
If I'm carrying a dozen roses and they say drop the weapon,
I'm gonna drop em before I try to explain that they're just roses.

According to someone who has watched the video of the shooting, "there's absolutely no indication that the police gave Mr. Crawford any kind of signal ... in the event they did give a signal to Mr. Crawford ... the video does not show him turning towards the officers or even acknowledging their presence."
also
"the preliminary findings of an autopsy were that he was shot in the back of his left arm and in his left side"
Well, I just don't see enough in the link to make a certain determination of anything....we're still in the "he said, she said" stage. I do find it interesting that they said he was shot in the back...
So I am definitely leaning toward another murder by the gestapo. :P
As a retired LAPD police officer, I think I know about the changes in law enforcement technique over the past 20-30 years. Most of us know the difference between a modern BB gun and a real firearm.
That's not what they sell at walmart. It's a disingenuous image pulled from A MEXICAN WEBSITE: CO2 AIRGUNS | MEXICO
As a retired police officer....you should have went to the walmart web site and done a little investigation...
Pray for a sane society that isn't gun crazy like ours. In any other society where real guns aren't as prevalent as ours, a person with a toy gun isn't likely to be mistaken for an armed killer. On the other hand, why is Walmart allowed to sell realistic looking toy guns? That's illegal in NYC.
In the meantime, punish the officers, punish the 911 caller and give the victim's family some money. And then we move on.
Exactly. This isn't because of the NRA. It's because of the hand wringing leftists blaming inanimate objects for human behavior.
It sure sells to the ill informed populace and gets votes though.
You're absolutely right. Let's start teaching kids guns are absolutely safe just like stuffed animals. Yes, everyone who doesn't believe in our gun culture is just selling fear...
Nah, he was shot in the back, not much else is certain...shooting someone in the back is murder, and a cowardly murder at that.
