Duncan came in contact with hundreds- thousands of people during 3 flights and layovers in Brussels and Dulles. He touched things, used the toilet, probably burped and coughed a few times too. No one became infected because he was not contagious at that point in time.
Duncan shared an apartment in Dallas with others for 8 days as he physically deteriorated. He minimally vomited in the apartment complex prior to being put in an ambulance. It's day 18 since all these people last had physical contact with Duncan and thus far, all are fine. These people are real time test cases.
Hey buddy boy,,The continental USA is not a testing ground...Point is he should of never been able to land here.....You forgot to mention the two nurses in your real time test case hypothesis. Like all time bombs they go off on the final tick...No one want's to be near when that final tick happens,,,It's evident that the nurses were there and all the king gowns and all the kings protocals couldn't put nurse one and two,,together again.......
Put that in your "Real time test case" bs...
The blood samples sent through the Hospital Vacuum Tube system not the blood samples from known Ebola patients. It turned out that Duncan (it was his blood sample sent on his first visit to the ER) was positive with Ebola ..... we already KNOW the Hospital & CDC have messed up - this blood sample deal is just one of several big mistakes.
The blood samples that are sent for Ebola testing are sent to Austin, TX - they use a special computer setup to test for Ebola - they can get results in about 2 hours. The CDC has not authorized an Ebola Testing Facility in Dallas ..... which is the epicenter of Ebola in the USA right now.
With all of the other viruses and diseases killing people in the millions each year, Ebola with 4000 deaths to date is not even close to being on the top 10. Top Ten Deadliest Diseases in the World - Crunkish
Then there is the mortality rate of Ebola, which is 50% in West Africa. Even though the sample size is small, in the west 0 people have died from Ebola.
Is it hyped?
I say NO.
We're at the end times and the Anti-"C's" are doing their horrid deeds sadly.
This may be difficult to evaluate objectively but I don't see how a disease can be overhyped.
Jets can spread this all over the world. It is ironic that the horrible thing about Ebola is almost a good thing. It kills people so fast it is somewhat difficult to spread but if someone just gets it and then almost immediately gets on a plane then what might happen?
psik
It is the likelihood of catching it that gets over hyped, there is a LONG list of things that are far more likely to kill you, including getting struck by lightning.
Actually that did happen with the man that died here, no one else on the plane caught it. It is not as easy to catch as you seem to believe, especially in the early stages, later stages are a different animal as the nurses can testify to. Thing is more people will get it here in the US, will it become an real crisis, very doubtful, the odds are most civilized Nations will be able to contain it and deal with it, but there truly is no way to stop it from getting here again so long as we live in the modern world.
I just heard a snippet on the news that the EPA prevents hospitals from incinerating waste. Sometimes I wonder if being a "developed" country really helps us in terms of containing a disease like ebola.
The only good thing about all of this is that it's exposing Obama's utter lack of ability to lead and is destroying any credibility he had left . It's also taking the Democratic party with him. With mere days left until the mid term elections this was the last thing the Dem's needed or wanted to have happen. People wont be voting for Republicans they will be voting against Democratics. I've been reading many many news articles from both sides saying that Ebola is claiming the Democratic party as a victim as well.

I look forward to a Republican majority in both chambers. Who knows, as the next few weeks unfold, there could be a super majority in both chambers.

I hope that I'm so very wrong, the huge potential threat is infections showing up and multiplying faster than anyone in the medical profession can do about it.
Maybe this is the "transformation" someone promised.

Good call. Then congress will be able to do even more nothing.
