Granted, I understand that this chapel is a for-profit business, but isn't a business owner's refusal to serve gays a civil matter?

I also read a comment that came up with a interesting point: if liberals get their way and churches are stripped of their non-profit status, does that mean churches will be forced to marry gays? At that point they become a for-profit entity no? I can see that as a slippery slope
That is what happens when we allow the purpose and the function of marriage to be redefined by the courts.

Whatever definition for marriage the people used to have are gone. The purpose of marriage which prompted the people to demand the sate governments get involved and write laws and protections has been redefined. marriage is now, whatever definition a simple majority court ruling decides it is.

No, this is what happens when religion and business become the same. This wouldn't have happened had the church not become a for-profit institution. And you know that. There's no reason you wouldn't. Don't pretend that's the issue here.

The anti-discrimination ordinance was in place well before gay marriage was unbanned in Idaho. They couldn't have refused to serve a gay couple 2 years ago any more than they can now under the law.

I guess they'll have to decide between serving God and mammon. If only there was some sort of scripture that could guide them on that point....

http://www.adfmedia.org/files/KnappComplaint.pdf
24. Plaintiff Donald Knapp is a Christian and an ordained minister with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.
25. Mr. Knapp is a resident and citizen of the state of Idaho and is married to his wife Evelyn Knapp.
26. Mr. Knapp is also one of the two members (“member” is the formal name for an owner of an LLC) of Hitching Post Weddings, LLC.

How to become an ordained minister through the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel church:
Get Credentialed | The Foursquare Church
"In order to be licensed, candidates must receive an appointment to serve at a Foursquare church. Candidates who are serving in non-Foursquare appointments may pursue credentialing through Foursquare Association." Mt Knapp is not running a Foursquare church (there are none in Idaho) but is credentialed through Foursquare Association.

Either way, I don't think this church is really allowed to claim freedom of religion. Religious institutions are not expected to be for profit by the state, which is why they get the privileges they have. By taking a profit, sacrificing those privileges is not unreasonable.
On the other had a Good Godly Bases church can show where the money is being spent thru the many Ministries.

Example the emboli, Calvary Chapel, Samarian Purse with cooperation other churches are getting donation together and raising serious money for Africa. It seems these types of ministries are looked by people trying to destroy the good works of Churches.

To ask a Godly bas Church to Marry Gay people is a sin and Church Doctrine. We will have to see where this goes?

These two people are assistant pastors at the Life Center Foursquare Church in Spokane - that's their church.

The lawsuit is about their for-profit business.

They should have put the chapel as a non-profit business to get exemption from nondiscrimination regulations. Since gay marriage has, in recent years, gained much support and was bound to become legalized in many states.

This is Fascism! The Rainbow Gestapo has proven once again that they are on the side, not of Liberty, but of Tyranny. They claimed their movement was about tolerance, but tolerance for whom? Tolerance only for those you agree with is not truly tolerance.

I will be praying for these Pastors during this time of persecution.

Have you been screaming for the last 50 years that's if fascism for religious people to have these exact same anti-discrimination protections, or is it only fascism when people are protected from discrimination because of their sexual orientation?
