So there will a better job out there if they just quit there job? If they leave then someone else will take that crappy job so it is not really changing anything.
When the company cant keep employees they will have to make the work atmosphere better.
Henry ford doubled his employees salary wages, offered a 40 hour work week etc because they kept quitting on him and it cost more money to train them, then to pay them more.
its not rocket science, when its cost effective to take care of their employees, they will.
They're paying more than minimum wage and offering more benefits than required. Isn't this proving many conservatives' point that you don't need laws for employers to treat employees well?
If the majority of employers were acting in this manner, then yes. But I think this is a story of the exception proving the rule.
On the contrary, capitalists believe that if you dont like your job or your salary we should have an economy where its to an employees advantage to find another job.
When turnover at sucky corporations get so costly that the corporation must then improve working conditions in order to compete.
Some people simply dont understand this, so rather than try to, they run around calling people names like corporatists, and then make ridiculous assertions comparing them to rapists..
But many of those capitalists manipulate the laws and the game in this country so that the employee really doesn't have a choice to go to another employer.
I wonder if there is any irony in the fact that people who ***** and moan about working condition, are the same ones who need to be told not to work under conditions that dont make them happy?
To me, that seems common sense, sadly, not everyone can figure this out on their own.
I find the irony to be in statements made from your side of the argument. You ***** and moan about employees yet seem to be quite alright with the employers gaming the system to such an extent that the magical free market you tout ceases to exist in its purest form...which possibly would give employees more leverage in the market.

But if Henry Ford lived today he wouldn't have had to do that because his fellow capitalists would have made the system so advantageous to the employer there would be no need to improve working conditions, wages etc because employees don't have a choice other than for which ****ty employer to work.
