The huge non-issue in campaign 2014 | New York Post

I'd like to think its smarter strategy, and a sign of things to come..but I'm not optimistic about that.

THAT'S actually the one issue they SHOULD stick to their guns on and so many dems are disgusted with their party about...they could pull a lot of centrist voters their way quick imho.

They lose 5-10 for every one they pick up. A 45 point 2012 Latino thrashing. GOP must enjoy going to the political woodshed; they repeat the behaviors that took them there.

Any unemployed blue collar worker should be outraged by the lack of enforcement and by the lack of laws that hold greedy employers accountable. The protester bill that came out of the Senate called the immigration reform bill should be enough to convince any blue collar worker that the Dems are out of touch with reality.

Why are you commenting on the GOP?

You know less about the GOP than you do about navigation on Pluto.

Wrong, pnwmdk, I'm a firm believer in objective data, as in a 45 point Latino thrashing has an underlying lesson to be learned.

About not ticking off the fasting growing portion of the US population. Getting the majority of white males w/o other subsets does not get one elected as POTUS. Romney did well..with white males. and got thrashed in the EC vote.

The can will continue to be kicked forward as it has for 30+ years, no matter who sat the oval or held the majority. That's no accident.

Political strategists have said it is not possible for any nominee to win the popular vote unless he recieves 40% of the Hispanic vote.

Bush advocated for reform/ amnesty and his party was divided and it went nowhere before the 2004 election. Bush vowed to try again and he did after the election. He was unable to bring his party together to support it. I have no idea if Bush believed in his pitch or if it was a political stunt. Regardless, he was able to secure more than 40 percent of the Hispanic vote.

McCain and Romney failed to get 40% of the Hispanic vote.
