I truly do not know if this would be doable or not, but has anyone considered putting forth a recall attempt with a special election concerning Obama?

It would take the effort out of the hands of politicians and put it in the hands of the people. I feel that it would cost less and be quicker while not stopping the legitimate functions of government.

As I said, I don't know if this is doable or not.

Thoughts?

You can't, there is no provision to recall a President. Nor no provision to have a referendum in which to do so.

There is no mechanism for recalling a President. The only way to remove a President from office is for him to first be impeached by the House and then convicted by the Senate.

Or aliens from the future open a time portal and suck him out. Both are about as likely as the other to happen .

Yeah, if anything it would cost a ton more. Since you would essentially have to run a federal election to do so.

As opposed to the length of time and cost of having congress convince themselves of a needed action and agreement to proceed. Not to mentions the cost of congress actually doing something and the cost to combat the moonbats trying to obstruct any action that government may or may not take along with Obamas challenge to the laws and the unending court battles?

You think that the cost of a recall would actually be less?

Try again.

The cost is negligible since at most you will have a few more lawyers hired out as special counsel. You really think that a 50 state election along with the obligatory campaigning from both sides to convince the people to vote one way or another would actually be less?

Try again.

Just curious, what would you want a recall election to look like? Would it be based on a popular vote, or the results of an electoral college recall vote (mirroring how we elect the president)? Would it require a simple majority to recall, two-thrids, three-quarters? Would you need some sort of quorum, or would any level of voter turnout suffice? Would any quorum be indexed to the number of registered voters, or to the number of eligible voters? Would any quorum apply to total turnout nationwide, or would it apply state-by-state?

Not to mention what happens in states with close votes? Are they allowed to determine if they will handle recounts or not? Will Congress be able to certify it or will you need a impartial 3rd party?
