A bipartisan bill went to the house in June 2013, where did it go.

Quote:
The Senate on Thursday passed the most monumental overhaul of U.S.
immigration laws in a generation, which would clear the way for millions of
undocumented residents to have a chance at citizenship, attract workers from all
over the world and devote unprecedented resources for security along the
U.S.-Mexico border.

The vote was 68-32. Fourteen Republicans crossed the aisle to vote with all
Democrats in favor. Thursday’s vote now puts the onus of immigration reform on
the Republican-led House, where leaders have been resistant to the Senate
legislation

Whatever bill congress comes up with on illegal immigration will be full of crap, neither party wants to lose votes.

The House could not find time to pass it because they were busy passing bills (at least 51) to repeal Obamacare.

The bill seemed like it had support from both parties, why did the house not bring to the floor for vote.

hastert rule - the senate bill would've passed the house but it would not have passed with a majority of of the majority (R's) voting for it.

all of the D's would've voted for it and probably about 50 R's, which would've been enough to pass it.

The same reason that Harry Reid has blocked more bills than Boehner - people are more loyal to political parties than what is good for the country. Look at the people that still approve of Obama.

Most House Republicans wanted increased border security confirmed first. Democrats are not interested in that.

Pelosi failed to read the bill so couldn't pull together support to get anyone interested in it.
