I'm 1 of those "bums" living on food stamps, NEVER needed them till 2013 and still getting them in late 2014. Things are THAT bad with me. Trust me; once I'm doing good again, bye bye to food stamps. The sooner the better.
No I feel bad for you came under bad luck, like many people I know who lost jobs for the first time ever under Obama. I am talking very good jobs, with benefits and good pay, take your pick all professions.
The difference is with you and them, you cannot wait to get off and start your life again for the better.
I have problems with those who milk the system, and become employed by food stamps and assistance.
This has been planned by the DNC, and possibly the RNC as well, for 45 years, or more now. Once you create a free program, like a spoken word, it can never be taken back.
They (the political class, elites) know the more wealth they suck from citizens, to redistribute (in the form of debt) to the poor, the sooner the scales will tip and their programs will take full control of the country. They will have created a society entirely dependent on the central planners (themselves).
Here's the deal. We have so much debt we could never hope to pay it off. At some point the ponzi scheme will implode and they'll swoop in to rescue us with a new currency (digital?) to replace the current bankrupt monetary system. The oligarchs (people at the top of the pyramid) will screw everyone by virtue of ruling a modern serfdom.
Food Stamps, ACA, unrestructured SS, unfunded liabilities, endless wars, executive orders and politicians breaking the law... etc. It's all designed to bring the house down.
Change without the Hope
Ask yourself why progressives are always talking about changing the Constitution, to near obsession.
Why change something that has created the freest, most successful, wealthiest, strongest, and most diverse country in the world?
Why?
and while you're at it, ask business owners, like liberal Apple and conservative GM why they ship all our jobs to China while whining about the corporate tax rate
Well, conservatives don't want to touch anything even remotely close to raising wages, or tackling the fact that business has managed to eek out 100% more productivity out of workers in 30 years while wages haven't even kept up with inflation.
And liberals insist we should continue to import poverty from around the world, and that we have a moral responsibility to take in every destitute child, woman and family hoping to come here and work fast food jobs with five kids....
So... basically we just reap what we sow. Neither side can complain, because they both are part of the problem.
True, what the typical Lefty or Righty does not get is we in the middle don't want any of the pork.
I have 2 friends on disability who recieve less than $75 a month in food stamps and they both have recieved cuts recently. They are older and can't work and paid into the system for years. Unfortunately the limited resources are being diverted to Immigrants who have never paid one cent into our system.
That fng pisses me off there: a person collecting under about a 1,000 a month on disability or SS retirement IS entitled to BOTH food stands AND AHCCCS. AHCCCS is our state medical care insurance here in Arizona.
Many of us WANT to work but are either too old or too banged up, especially those of us much above 55 years old. Most employers want younger people.

I cannot stand lazy people it is so unproductive.
Thanks. I actually have a job doing what I did before but my wages are a bit over half of what they were 2 years ago.
I used to think there were a lot of people who deserved a hand out because they can't work until I met a ma who was blind working at a cash register....His fingers could feel the difference between the coins to give change and people in line confirmed what the bill denominations were....I have thought of that man many times when I see poor people sitting on their front stoop doing nothing....If someone has self esteem there is always some job they can do...If they want to milk the system, this country allows that too....It is a disgrace that the numbers on welfare and food stamps are so high....As "Packard Fan" said, it is a temporary situation and was never intended to be a permanent way of life
