I agree. Sometimes punishment is simply that. Punishment. I still do not believe anyone has the right to take the life of another outside of self defense.
I believe someone forfeiting their own life as a consequence for taking another's is just punishment and have no problem with it.

By all means it is RIGHT, JUST AND MORAL to execute heinous criminals.

Quit living in fantasy land. BTW how does the "Universe" decide a penalty???

This is moronic to say the very least.
Who are you or anyone to decide? No one owns anothers life except that individual. The only reason to take anothers life is to protect a life or your property.

And no one is actually listening to an opinion by a nobody, that's why they have a death penalty because it was decided by intelligent individuals and NOT emotional pansies.

There do you feel better now???

When you violate others and TAKE their lives you LOSE what rights you have.

DUHHH!!! It's called a penalty/punishment/sentence. BTW most Countries including this one holds people responsible for their actions.

Try again, LOL !!!!

The primary function of a state is to defend the life, liberty and property of the citizens of that state. Capital punishment is one tool used to accomplish that.

It seems to me that a State killing people is the antithesis of protecting life.

You do not have to kill anyone to do that.

The state defends life, liberty and property by taking life (death penalty), liberty (imprisonment) and property (fines). I can't think of any other ways to stop internal aggressors.

I just never can understand thinking such as yours. What do you do with a rabid animal ? Just curious...
