So the cops expect the public to give them respect, bend over backwards, listen to their demands and instructions, etc......but they can't do the same for their boss? FIRE THEM.

Lol. Not only did the Second Circuit stay the district courts opinion but they also threw the judge off the case.

If it hasn't been said already, there is a time and a place for the police to make a statement to the mayor, but not when they are in uniform and the mayor is in a public place. If they mayor had been attacked, killed or injured during that impromptu protest we would have been having an entirely different discussion.

Didn't these officers take an Oath to be subordinate and show the proper respect towards senior leadership and their Mayor as Commander-In-Chief?

What liberal trash drivel

My Sheriff earns my respect.... he does so by clear balanced policies,,, he does so by steady leadership in times of crisis... while a political figure (and in my county the most powerful figure there probably is) he understands that whatever the issue we cannot have anarchy.. He understands that when a crisis develops within our department there will be a reasoned measured response.. unemotional but factual

As policeman we arent robots.. we have the ability to disagree with the people who lead us.. but in a civil manner within the system

Turning their back on Deblasio was the most classy act i could think of.. it showed him clearly what our brother NYPD coppers think without saying a word

It is up to Deblasio to engage in serious soul seraching... and allow the true professionals around him and the well oiled system of justice speak

Deblasio fomented the deaths of his officers.. Id say just turning their backs on him is the shot heard across the world... while they did it his personal protection detail..all 20 or so of them wouldnt hestitate for a second to protect he and his family... thats true professionalism

Respect is earned.. which is a cornerstone of ethics of most police departments policies today.. Deblasio would be well served to read the ethics manual of his police department and take away how to treat others

In my opinion he should go because he has demonstrated he is an ineffectual leader

We should not have to have anyone lead of government today who is radical in anything.. becaue we are a country of diverse backgrounds.. when you suck up to radicals you will only have pain, death and anarchy.

Actually, I thought it was a perfect time.

It was a huge symbolic gesture reflecting how they feel the mayor has treated them.

There was no swearing, no yelling, no vulgarities, no chants of "who do we want? the mayor! how do we want him? thrown out of office!" ... I think they got their point across perfectly with absolutely no disruptions of any kind.

They will be. Deblazio will put his own people, those loyal to him, in the leadership positions and they'll deal with any deviations in the ranks.

That doesn't back up your accusations. The case was moving forward. No one ruled you can frisk people at random.
