I hear "Murder, She Wrote" is coming back on the air next month.
May be that you could pick up some other ideas too.

Are you saying you don't think police have ever planted drugs and/or guns on innocent people? That would be quite a naive thing to think seeing there have been officers that have actually been arrested in the past for doing things like that.

Please tell me I heard that wrong, and nobody that would be representing the police at a news conference is that dumb!
But, if you heard it too, then I guess a police representative actually IS that dumb!

Note to the representative: Be sure brain is in gear before putting mouth in motion!
5 in the chamber? So the semi auto stove piped and rather than clear the jam he just kept pulling the trigger?

Even that doesn't make much sense in my experience with firearms. When I had a jam, you couldn't even really try to fire another round. It's not like a revolver.

Did he say it backwards? 1 in the chamber and 5 in the mag?

If that is what you actually heard, then it is obvious that the person had no idea what they were talking about. Probably someone with no firearms experience.

Possibly, many of these reporters know nothing about weapons and just read a prompter, written by someone else also clueless.

Thank you. I hope everybody is happy now.
Like I said, "Be sure brain is in gear before putting mouth in motion!"
Actually, I feel somewhat sorry for that Chief. He will quite likely never hear the last of THAT one!

That would be my guess.
