It doesn't sound like it was a ban...maybe that word means something different in France. Basically the article sounds like there was an up coming protest and they were worried about security issues due to recent events.

sorry - not sure how you arrived at this conclusion. I read the article... the word "demos" is in the title "Outrage as France become first country in world to ban pro-Palestine demos"
Nothing specifically says it's not from here on out. Nothing states that it's for this weekend only.
This is hardly the first speech the French and in fact European countries have banned. Politcal correctness have been around a long time but they make it law.We do the same just don't make it law. I can first remember a presidential candidate labeled as racist because he used "you peopl'e in addressing black at NAACP .
