It seems no one has to ask for you to give your opinion of a sin, you seem perfectly willing to come into a thread talking about the laws of a secular government and going on and on about sins. No one care what you personally believe is a sin. According to other religions what you do is a sin, do you really care what they think about you sinning according to their religion? No? Then you know how I feel about your religious beliefs about sin.

We are still fighting for equal rights under the law, there are still several states where we are not treated equally under the law as a hetero couple. We will keep on fighting until the end. Sorry if that bothers you, but get over it your religion means nothing when it comes to the laws of this country.
Actually a lot of people want to change doctrine. There are a lot of calls to remove the tax-exempt status of churches. There are laws that require people to do business with people they have moral, religious, or personal problems with. People are now trying to change laws to remove religious exemptions for medicine.

To say that "no one wants you to change" is a myopic viewpoint.

While I'm sorry for your hardships I think we should, as a country, try to get the actual written (not "possibly implied") portions of the constitution fixed before we move on to the outer parts. Having a woman able to defend herself out of the home, not have the government come into a house without a search warrant, and not have property seized so a strip mall can be built is a lot higher on what should be taking the Supreme Courts time.

How many 4th Amendment cases has the Supreme Court considering in our history? A hundred?

How many cases has the Supreme Court considered about Equal Protection and sexual orientation - the answer is 2. Is a 3rd really too much to ask?

And just because you think a 4th Amendment question is more important that a 14th Amendment question doesn't mean everybody else does.

1. there have been no serious calls to remove tax exemption from churches by anyone with the ability to make that happen. People talking on a message board talk about many pipe dreams that won't happen.

2. Businesses are not churches. Baking a cake , taking pictures, selling dresses, or making a flower arrangement are not part of religious doctrine. ALL businesses have to follow the same anti discrimination laws. Religious belief does not trump generally applicable law.

3. Doctors should be required to treat any patients that need help. That is kind of part of the whole "do no harm" thing.

The written portion of the constitution is quite clear on equal protections of the law. As a country we are able to deal with more than one thing at a time. If we weren't then nothing would ever get done.

Being gay is not a lifestyle choice. And in the western world, acceptance is pretty high. And which people of faith are you referring to? Half of American Catholics support it. Half of the country as a whole supports it, and this country is predominately Christian. 70% of Jews worldwide support it.

The extreme anti-gay crowd is a vocal minority. Gays are your scapegoat sin that you obsess about like no other, despite all the other sins your side commits daily. You guys do not act like Christians.
