It's believed that one of the reasons that starts the falling of a great nation, including Rome, Great Britain, etc. started when the nation's population put a lot of value, time, and attention to sports and entertainment.

Is the United States heading that same path. What are your thoughts?

They all fell when they inflated their currencies, to pay for war.

I think it would be dishonest to peg the fall of great nations on a single thing. Many people do this, usually changing the reason to fit their narrative. i.e. gay marriage is sexual deviancy, and that's why Rome fell. While some truth may exist in the statement, it's probably not the full truth and in no way could any intellectual person believe that's the main reason an entire state collapsed.

I also don't think it's the same reason for every state. Rome (probably) fell for a number of reasons, the big ones being devalued currency and political insatiability. I've heard people say Rome was spread to thin, and that could be true, but that issue on it's own wouldn't cause a state to fail. They Empire was split into two separate empires, supposedly still under one nation. It didn't work.

If the US is too fall, I don't think focusing on sports and entertainment is the cause. It may be the effect, but not the cause. I think the US will fall due to unchecked debt, braindead citizens (this could be an aspect of focusing on entertainment too much), and crumbling economic/political structure.

I know some like to peg their opposing political ideology as the enemy. Of course, that's absurd. Someone said unchecked liberalism is the problem when in reality, unchecked anything is the problem. Hitler was more in line with conservative ideology, and looked what happened there. But it's typical for people to deny their side could ever become a problem. The irony is that both sides are already part of the problem.

It's somewhat unhealthy when the nation is so obsessed with sports and entertainment. What nation is as obsessed as USA?

Too much concentration on sports and entertainment means less time on traditional things like education, etc. is a form of liberalism.
