The same methodology for the past 21 years.

Walmart overtook IBM as the country's largest employer in the 80's. McDonald's pushed IBM to the #3 sport. Then in the early 90's, Yum Brands pushed IBM to #4.

No wonder the formula was changed in 1994.

Is a stay at home parent unemployed?

It is good to see this type of good news getting under right wingers' skin because it shows that even with all their tactics to hurt the economy to make the Democrats look bad, all of that has failed as more Americans are back to work since the recession.

Also keep in mind, the u-6 is also steadily falling as well.
So poor Black people having trouble finding work become of the systemic racism they face in the labor force and a minimum wage that prices them out of the job market, to the point that they're finally disenfranchised and stop looking for work, aren't unemployed?

That article was such a joke. Work permits are nothing new and the effect they have on our economy is actually pretty small. The article does a nice play on words my saying

"President Barack Obama has quietly handed out an extra 5.46 million work permits for non-immigrant foreigners who arrived as tourists, students, illegal immigrants or other types of migrants since 2009"

Which that sentence means it is one or some of the above, but not all. Heck, they could have thrown in dogs and cats and the statement would still hold true because of the word "or."

Again with this link.

Does this anti- amnesty group take into consideration legislation of the early 2000's that granted all sorts of exemptions for non US people hired by US learning institutions, think tanks and not for profits? How about the first 2000 with a Masters or higher degree that do not count against quotas limits?

Undocumented immigration became a tidal wave in the 80's and peaked with the housing bubble. It has not mattered who sat the oval or held the majority, they all kicked the can. This was no accident.

Bush tried twice to get a buy in to Immigration Reform and Amnesty. It did not fly. It was however enough for him to win more than 40 % of the Hispanic vote and get reelected to a second term, what really mattered. And here we are.

What is the percentage of people not looking for work are poor black people that have been disenfranchised? They would be considered unemployed in the U-6 numbers.

Speaking of which, by this time next year the U-3 numbers should be on par with 2006, and the U-6 numbers should almost be to the 2004 level. And it gets better, if things continue in the same direction, we should almost be back to 2000 level U-6 and U-3 numbers by the time we are swearing in the next Democrat President.

I spent a bit of time in another thread explaining what an EAD is, what it's used for and why it's rather deceptive to add them up over a period of 5 years, but you know what? I'm not bothering this time. Bask in glorious ignorance.

Not really, the U-6 is at almost 11% and falling, it should be at 2004 levels this time next year.
